Meet the Artist

Tina Swaney-Black

I’m a mixed media painter based in St. Petersburg, Florida — a Massachusetts girl at heart. What began as creating in my garage (after my husband pointed out our entire house had quietly become an art studio) has grown into a dedicated space where I now paint freely and intentionally.

With a background in business, finance, and tax consulting, I’ve spent years living in structure and strategy. Creativity once lived on the sidelines — until, with the support of family and friends, I gave myself permission to explore it fully. Today, I comfortably use both sides of my brain: one day building business plans or consulting with clients, the next immersed in paint, texture, and movement. That duality defines my work.

My art lives between structure and chaos. Some pieces are deliberate and controlled; others are fluid and intuitive. I begin with intention — a feeling, a palette, a sense of energy — and allow the piece to evolve from there. Much of my work is created in series and reflects the emotions I’m processing in real time.

What started as private self-care during a season of significant life change has grown into something far more public — and something I’m proud to share.
